Candidate will be capable of working with multiple teams of engineering and software development personnel to assemble, reassemble, integrate, and monitor application software and mission systems. They will enable and support the integration, testing, and production of new mission systems. They will generate robust system baselines for easy deployment to lab. They will exercise developmental software on newly deployed systems.
-Support the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of systems
-Provide system administrations services for Linux / UNIX infrastructure and development systems (scripting and loading machines using KickStart system configuration)
-Support the build and software integration of systems and supporting architecture under development (client/server/storage/network devices, etc.)
-Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a System Engineer supporting system and S/W architecture, development, requirements analysis, designing complex collection systems, process execution and evaluation, selections and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools and test integration
-Support the build and software integration of new mission systems and supporting architecture under development (client/server/storage/network devices, etc.)
-Ability to assess possible architectural limitations or shortcomings in such areas as scaling, speed, and throughput
• Proactively contribute to the team and recommend technical and procedural enhancements
• Provide system administrations services for Linux infrastructure and development systems (scripting and loading machines using KickStart system configuration)
-Maintain scripts for loading machines using KickStart and Puppet manifests and perform/verify system configurations
-Familiarization with shell scripting languages such as Ruby, BASH execution and analysis
-Knowledge of virtualization software ESXi (VMWARE)
-Excellent verbal and written communications skills are highly desired.
-No demonstrated experience is required. Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of system engineering (SE) experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
-Assists with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
-Manages system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) - Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA), etc.
-Contributes to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Initial -Capabilities Documents, Requirements specifications, and Interface Control Documents
-Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
-Experience with development of system CONOP, requirements, and verification activities.
-Experience using the Agile development methodology.
